AG Group aims to double its revenue by 2026 to €89 million. Five new openings this year.
A hotel group that essentially "started from scratch" in the post-Covid era, when it had reached a turnover of nearly 70 million euros, but suffered a severe setback during the pandemic. Since then, much has changed, and a new corporate structure has been created: AG Group was born with a new governance structure and a vertical and horizontal growth strategy through three divisions: hotel management with AG Hotels, DMC and tour operator with AG Boutique Journey, and third-party consulting with AG Hotel Consulting.
At the helm is President and CEO Andrea Girolami who explained, during a meeting with journalists, how he had to think about the future with a different logic: “We sold some hotels such as Il Tornabuoni in Florence and Il Campo Marzio in Rome to recover resources and venture into a new and integrated business, which aims at an upper upscale and luxury positioning and a predominantly international clientele”.

Regarding the hotel sector, AG Hotels Operations Manager Matteo Moretti emphasized that the 4-star hotels currently operating in Rome have an average occupancy rate exceeding 85%, and five new luxury hotels are planned for this year. The 5-star Thompson Rome by Hyatt will open in the first half of 2026, in the building known in Rome as "il Bottegone," the historic site of the PCI headquarters on Via delle Botteghe Oscure. This lifestyle brand, founded in New York in 2001, has 69 rooms. There will be three new entries linked to Accor's Emblems Collection brand: Masseria Furnirussi, 38 rooms and an Italian garden in Salento, Palazzo Solzini Malavolti (Siena) with an outdoor swimming pool and the largest fig grove in Europe with over 5,000 trees, and Relais San Clemente in a former Benedictine monastery in Perugia with 51 rooms and 9 villas in a park of centuries-old pine trees.
Borgo Tre Vaselle will also open in Torgiano, Umbria, in the second quarter of 2026. It will feature 52 rooms within a charming hamlet and a conference center that can host events for up to 200 people. All new openings will be 5-star hotels, and the group is currently selecting the most appropriate brand to affiliate with.
