For AG Group, doubling turnover comes through an integrated strategy
New 5-star hotels, travel and consultancy services to reach a turnover of around 89 million
Expansion phase for AG Group, which expects to reach a consolidated turnover of close to 89 million this year, compared to 47.5 million in 2025, an increase of 87%. "A growth driven by new hotel openings, the development of international incoming and the expansion of consulting activities," explains Andrea Girolami, founder, president and CEO of AG Group. During the course of the year, the group will open five more five-star hotels in addition to the six directly managed four-star hotels.
The new openings will be in Rome, Siena, Salento and Umbria in partnership with international networks such as Accor and Hyatt. In 2027 it will be Perugia's turn with the Relais San Clemente in Accor's Emblems collection. A move that, according to the founder's plans, will triple the revenues of the AG Hotel division, which will rise from €30 million in 2025, achieved with six hotels in Rome, to about €63 million this year with 11 hotels, and the creation of about 300 new jobs, while in 2027 the goal is to reach €90 million with 12 hotels all positioned in the luxury segment. In the medium- to long-term plan, AG Group aims to reach a total capacity of around 1,000 rooms by 2028, in 2025 it was 350, thanks to an offer of 16 hotels. As a strategic choice, it was decided to focus on and invest in smaller resorts such as, for example, Torgiano in Umbria, Carpignano Salentino in the Lecce area, to which operations in the Monferrato area will be added in the near future.
The Group also counts AG Boutique Journey, a tour operator specialised in selling the destination Italy in the main markets: this year there will be 34 against 27 in 2025. An important share of customers comes from Canada (38%) followed by Ireland, the United States, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. Continental Europe and the United Kingdom follow. In the coming months, some new markets in South America will be covered, including Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador, some Central American countries and the United Arab Emirates.
The tour operator's speciality is to offer tailor-made holidays and programmes in groups or individuals, from cultural and food and wine tours - the company has been working with Slow Food Italy for years - to thematic and luxury trips. "Typically the stay lasts an average of 7 to 9 days," says Rocco Moscariello, director of AG Boutique Journey, "with an expenditure that starts from 2 thousand euro excluding main meals and experiences. The goal is to have about 36 thousand mid- to high-end customers compared to 24 thousand in 2025.
