Thompson by Hyatt debuts in Italy: opening in Rome

What was once the historic headquarters of the Italian Communist Party for decades is preparing to reopen this spring with a completely new look, one marked by luxury and lifestyle. The first Italian hotel under the Thompson brand will open on Via delle Botteghe Oscure in Rome : 69 rooms and a concept that combines urban energy and contemporary design, the new destination designed by AG Group and Gruppo Rossfin will be branded Thompson Rome by Hyatt.

“Located in the historic center and overlooking Piazza Venezia,” a statement reads, “a symbolic place of the city and ideally positioned for reaching the most important attractions – from the Colosseum to the Pantheon, to the Trevi Fountain – Thompson Rome by Hyatt will enhance one of its most scenic features: the panoramic rooftop , designed to experience Rome from above, with aperitifs, cocktails, and evenings with a cosmopolitan mood.”

Thompson's interiors "will be sophisticated without ostentation, elegant yet profoundly familiar," the statement continues. "Welcoming like a beloved home, beyond passing fads, never overly affective, never rigidly uniform. A rare balance: between beauty and soul, between style and warmth."
